Windows You'll Love For a Lifetime
Few things enhance your home more than windows. It’s important as you’re considering which window is best for you to think about the following:
* Look for reliability. Pay attention to warranties and follow manufacturer instructions to protect your warranty.
* Think energy efficient. To save money over the long run, look for windows with the Energy Star label and low-E glass.
* Consider maintenance factors. When purchasing windows you plan to paint rather than stain, choose those that come factory primed. Or select new low maintenance products that don’t require painting at all.
* Think about style. Choose styles and materials that fit the style of your home.
$1500 Tax Credit
Save with Energy Efficient Windows
Beginning January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2010, you can replace your home’s old windows that may qualify for a tax credit up to $1,500 on your 2009 or 2010 federal income tax return.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 extends federal tax credits for eligible building components. The new law includes specific requirements including a U-Factor equal to or below 0.30 and a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) equal to or below 0.30 in all climate zones in the U.S. The approved bill includes the ability for homeowners to gain a tax credit of 30 percent of the cost of qualifying energy-efficient upgrades to a maximum of $1,500 per household for 2009 and 2010.
The qualified products must be installed in the taxpayer-owned principal residence after January 1, 2009 and before December 31, 2010.
NOTE: The credit only applies on the price of the qualified windows themselves and excludes installation costs, onsite preparation, assembly or sales tax.
*Windows can enhance the value of your home, reduce your expenses and help to create an inviting and livable space. With so many choices, selecting the right window can be challenging task. The consultants at Case would be happy to help.
